Deciding what to write? 1st 10-pages WS coming to Austin, TX on November 15th

I'm often baffled at my own decision making process when I choose 'what' I'm going to write next. I mean, what makes a writer decide to dedicate months, if not several years (i.e. Lost In Sunshine) to ONE story? I've tried to determine a formula, but I'm quite sure now - there is none! Basically, if there's a sticky idea that keeps coming back to me, that's the first real sign. Then moments, clever dialog (so I hope!) or little scenes will start to appear in my mind....
