Lost In Sunshine production meeting with Lorie in town: S 16 mm vs. The Red One

Hello, hello!

It's been a long time coming - but Lost In Sunshine's producer, Lorie's in town again - yay!!!

Yesterday, me and Lorie met with our art director, Ia, director of photography, Iskra, editor, Nevie, line producer/1st AD, Michelle, and our dear filmmaker friend, Kat Candler in Kat's north central office and talked for about 3 fun hours....

Then and Now Part 2: Back to Plan A

This is proof of how quickly things can change in the film world - in an ever evolving, fickle land of what only once was. Yesterday they loved it. Today they hate it. Tomorrow they buy it. And the next, they rewrite it! Well, none of that happened to me, but it's an example of how it can be - trust me. ;)

Indie Producing at its finest.

Our first production meeting with Laura, Michelle, myself and Lorie took place this afternoon in my living room. We all sat perched on my sectional with our ears gravitating towards my pink cell phone on speaker, awaiting Lorie's next words. I have to say, it wasn't fancy, but it was priceless. We were real, talented filmmakers tossing around sophisticated subject matter with clever ideas, hovering around a cell phone - indie style....

In Search of a Line Producer, Part II

After reviewing tons of resumes/cover letters/bios online, I narrowed it down to a few experienced applicants. There were a lot of impressive people flooding the city, let me tell you. It was h-a-r-d! But I came across an applicant, Michelle M. that stood out. She was around my age (30-ish) and had written, directed and produced a feature called, Douglas (click on link above to watch trailer)....
