Hello Sunshines!

While raising the BIG $ it'll take to shoot the movie, Lost In Sunshine, we decided to feature blogs from our main characters, Lyn and Bob, on a website first - Lostinsunshine.com. Our hope is to attract early fans to our expanded online story world.

We're happy and blessed that we've touched those we have, so far! It's been fun to interact with all of you, and to exchange and share information and ideas! And most of all, to be lifted and inspired by your energy - daily!

We've steadily added behind-the-scenes and character content over the last two years, so this (IndieGoGo) campaign is a continuation of the process to keep 'the whole' rising! It's to raise the awareness of Lostinsunshine.com and to raise funds so that we can keep adding new story content to it.

We now have ONE MORE DAY LEFT for you to participate & be a part of something inventive, special, & exciting, like never before!!

What you need to know:
We've changed the campaign a bit! In lieue of 3 of the online games we'd planned, we want to instead shoot a short film, based on the movie.

Crowdfunding Lessons & how to unleash your inner indie rock star!

OK, so we (@ Lost In Sunshine) took a chance at putting out a direct-approach video for our latest IndieGoGo campaign, which we're afraid has appeared earnest.:) So, no time to buy tissues, we're working on changing that! If we're too late, we'll take what we learned with us, so the experience won't be wasted.

Lesson 1) Inspire people to donate to your campaign with your message, don't bore them to death with your knowledge/hopes/dreams, cuties! ;)

Our demographic has always been specific. But the real question appears to be whether or not our (your) target audience will know what the hell transmedia or social media is, and if they'll contribute/get involved. In addition, if we have a chance at our target audience contributing, assuming we have the wherewithal to reach them, they'll have to understand it.

GREAT NEWS! You're not from Mars...:)

Lesson 2) Whip out your silver spoon, Sunshines, it's time to feed greens to those cats who are hard core chocolate lovers! When not sure your audience will understand what to do, don't insult them or go postal! Just be clever ole you, throw on your creative beanie, and figure out another delivery method!

This reminds me of the show don't tell rule in screenwriting. How will your audience know what to do, if it hasn't been done before?

Lesson 3) Show your audience by example, whether it be via video or instructional. But remember, don't be a BORING wizard! Be a playful pup!

Why should someone care about (y)our project/story anyhow?

Good question.

Sometimes people don't know they should care until you let them know why they should. As an indie artist, I personally back/support/produce material that inspires me. Fills me up. I'm not looking for the most original idea I've ever heard (1800's miner comes back to life and performs satanic rituals to rid the small town of its disease - although that could be good...) or the greatest indie project on earth (c'mon, I'm just a mid-aged white girl from TX, who wrote a dramatic comedy about a small town girl!!... although, my great grandmother was 50% Charokee... hmmmm), but I do look for things that speak to me, ask questions, have an enthusiastic spirit and partners that believe in the message.

What inspires you??

Lesson 4) Respect constructive criticism the same way you respect yourself. :)

Remember that little thing we talked about continuously getting better...?

Well, YEAH! It's part of the process that only you can fight, or work to get right!

Hello, Sunshines!

Do you like watching dramatic comedies with unpredictable characters, yet familiar enough you can relate to?

Do you enjoy watching (indie) movies that are unique, with unexpected twists and turns to keep you on your toes?

Do you like movies that are, especially in the end, spiritually uplifting and hopeful?

Wouldn't you like to get to know the characters IN the movie, before you watch it?

Do you like watching movies from your streaming netflix/internet/phone/TV/theater?

Would you like to have the opportunity to be a part of an experimental, multi-medial indie filmmaking explosion before the movie's actually even made (and put before you in all of these optional ways)?

I understand it could be odd to invest in a transmedia campaign, when frankly, most people don't even know what that word means.

That's why we're explaining it here in this video. We could've chosen to be cute/funny/unconventional in our approach, but we'd rather you see US for who we are, and know exactly what we're doing with your funds.

My hope for all of you is that you find something about our project that moves you to action. It's not everyday we get to make a movie, and I can respect that you want to be able to see the rewards of your contribution. That's why we created this elaborate campaign to show you exactly what we're doing with it. Additionally, we've created an interactive campaign that you can creatively & actively be a part of, too.

Lost Without YOU IndieGoGo campaign!

How are you doing today, my Radiant Friends?

Wherever you are in the world, I hope you're bundling up, if you're experiencing this blast the way we are in TX! We're so not built for this weather - we forgot to drip the pipes!

But there's another (indie film) blast under way!

We're finally giving our indie hearts a GO with a Lost Without YOU, Lost In Sunshine campaign!

Our interactive (version 2) LIS website was launched Monday, so be sure to check it out if you haven't already... it's different, fun, and COOL to play with!

This week: Casting into the universe, launching new, interactive website, and IndieGoGo Campaign!

So, the tension is building inside... we're just hours away from launching our IndieGoGo campaign, which is following the launch of our (version 2) interactive website! During the week, we'll continue to release new features, content, videos, etc. on our Lost In Sunshine website, indiegogo page, twitter, and facebook.

The stressful part about it is not being able to predict the outcome, like most of life. All we can do it put it out there and hope that all of our love, devoted efforts, and continuous passion pays off. We hope that others will, more than just see how crazy hard we work, relate to our concept, characters, spiritual content/message, and theme. We hope that our audiences will want to participate (Then I'll have warm fuzzies).

As an indie filmmaker, there are no guarantees. So, what's comforted me is that the universe manifests itself the way it wants to, when it wants to, with, and sometimes without, our help. In other words, the outcome will be the same whether we worry about it or not. The point is to enjoy this magnificent journey, love the process and when we have completed something - find some satisfaction is looking at the final product and being proud, whether or not it ever makes a dime. Of all people, I know how difficult it is sometimes. But if we are in this line of work for the right reasons, it will not let us down. The universe will continue to aid us in our dreams, as we continue to hang on to hope, and put one foot in front of the other.

Now go get 'em! I'll meet ya out there. :)

Getting personal: My independent film, Lost In Sunshine, and indie documentary, What I Know For Sure

With eight hundred dollars in hand, I once took off alone to NY at the age of 19. Growing up in a small town (no, no, really small - population 300!) I somehow left with this fearless attitude that I could do anything I wanted. Call it naivety, call it good parenting. I had the will to shoot for my dreams, and I was off!!

It was two whole weeks before I returned back to Texas. :)

What I learned from that experience is what I didn't want to do. Very important. And that I wasn't so fearless. NY scared the shit out of me. I didn't know how to get around, talked the nice person at the closest convenience store into cashing my MO's when I needed them, and ate a lot of muffins for dinner. :)

By the time I was 21, I had lost a lot of what had once made me feel whole as a child - a real home to go home to, a long-term relationship, and a cohesive family that was stable and healthy.

In addition, I had shamefully dropped out of school, worked endless minimum wage jobs, and found my friends in less than desirable places. Yes, I was playing out a role that was full of insecurities, heartache, drugs, dishonest people, and a little hope... just barely hanging on to a valuable existence. There was even a time when I lived out of my car. I wasn't sleeping in it, which would've been very different, but I didn't have a home address. I stayed with friends, and worked as much as I had to - just to pay my car payment and for pizza.

Working on my current documentary, What I Know For Sure, and giving the audience an honest portrayal of me and my beliefs has been more challenging than I'd hoped. Consequently, it's forcing me to look into my past, and face what should've perhaps been faced long ago. Could this be the best therapy?

As I write, I realize this has become a bit of a dumping ground, too. But perhaps that's where my doubt, questions, and quest for the cosmos first arose - though those challenges.

Writing has always been an imperative tool for my sanity, too. I can't imagine my life without it, just as you wouldn't imagine living without air. And filmmaking is what brings everything and everyone together. Once it's created, it's like an imprint of your soul - waiting to be relived by others who are intrigued by the journey (or trailer!) enough to watch it.

As I move forward in my 30's, I find all of my hardships, past and present, to be highly beneficial! Mostly, because hard times are accompanied by something we can at least look back on and laugh about. Especially in writing Lost In Sunshine, my sweet disheartened baby, who also hangs on to hope... even when it feels hopeless.

And just look where we are now. :)

As you all know, we've been working our butts off the last two years to make Lost In Sunshine happen. With all that we're doing, and all that we've done, I feel a sense of peace, wave of excitement, and openness to how and when the universe wants us to fully manifest it.

This past year, it seems that our direction has been towards building an online community. It's been a labor of LOVE, and real eye-opener for me personally, as I never imagined all that could be accomplished so joyfully when you've got the right people on your side (thank you, Lorie, hubby, & loyal teammates!)

So, with gratitude and love, we enter the next phase of our film's journey.

Here's a PRESS RELEASE I'd like to share with you, my devoted friends and supporters.

Cheers to 2011! I think it's going to be a GOOD one for all of us... so let's first suspend any disbelief we have that it will not be everything we want, and imagine that whatever we want, feel, desire, and dream - we can accomplish. What to do when what you know for sure keeps changing...

That's what this documentary, What I Know For Sure, is doing to me - raising more questions about life and the universe. Every time I find a bit of information I think makes sense, something else happens... another voice of reason or illogical reasoning supports a theory I can't draw a solidified conclusion from... and then I ask someone else the (same) question, just to go through this again.

It's a brilliant ride... a delicious adventure... but it's like a magic trick you can't figure out... ya know, the one that drives you mad!

So what happens if what we know for sure keeps changing? Is that a good or bad thing?

I'm tempted to label it as GOOD, since that's the way I feel we learn and grow... by continuing to ask the hard questions.

It might ask 'the question of all time' but I wish it'd give me the 'answer of all time.' Unfortunately, I'm being left with more and more questions, or more and more sessions of analyzing the same circular question. As close as I can ever get to an answer I truly believe in, I don't think I'll ever be satisfied. Perhaps I'm not supposed to with this one.

I wish I could tell you the question, so you can weigh in, but you'll have to wait until the movie (if you're not IN it) to find out. Thank goodness I'm good at keeping secrets. I'm a scorpio. ;)

The beauty and power of this film’s message(s) comes from the honesty of those who tell it, and their diversity.
